I couldn’t resist digitizing these colorful angels. Usually we see angels in all white and these would be beautiful all white too. But I’m such a color girl I love seeing them in colors as well, especially pastel colors.

I know some people like outlines and some don’t. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. In this case I like the outlines. So to please everyone I left the outlines to sew last. I padded the satin stitches so they stand up off the fabric better.  For best results use very fine bobbin thread. Continue reading Angels Colors

Go Strum It!

I purchased this artwork last year for my great nephew and to make my niece a wall quilt to hang in her cubicle at work. She is in a position where she trains people who have no experience in this job. So you know she is challenged everyday. Plus both her husband and son are accomplished guitarist. So it all fits!

Her son Will and his wife like the basic colors gray, black, and white as do many young people these days.

Cottage Gardens

Of all the cottages I’m made to date this is my most ambitious. It all started with a simple watercolor image of the pot with a couple of sprigs of green growing up on it and a big door of wooden planks. I never planned to make it this elaborate and not even in my dreams did I consider it could be.

I never know how my freestyle designs will turn out because they are not planned. I start with a simple image and literally design all the rest of it freestyle on the screen of my computer within my digitizing software. The design evolves with each day into something I can hardly believe it could be. This one took me 4 weeks off/on with the last week turning into 20 hour days as it was becoming a bit long in the tooth, even for me. Not to mention that I have other designs I’m anxious to make.
