Hoop-N-Quilt projects are great travel projects – except of course for flying – as you can cut out the pieces while riding in the car, sitting at the park, standing in line, talking on the phone, or anywhere you have a couple minutes of hands free time.
This is a great quilt for using up scrap fabrics. Still, the scraps must be large enough to use in the embroidery machine’s hoop.
- Hexagons are in two sizes – small ⅞” & large 1⅜” (Measuring one side of the hexagon). The smaller size allows more creative freedom for designs beyond traditional patterns. The larger size requires fewer pieces for the quilt allowing for faster construction on larger projects
- “Petal” Hexagons have ‘faux’ quilting.
- Center Hexagon design has extra stitch elements to better resemble a flower center.
- Includes full color instructional booklet in pdf format
For the informed quilter, the notion that creating a GMFG is challenging comes as no revelation. However, my approach is both quick and simple. If you have ever made or wanted to make your own GMFG, I hope you will try my approach and let me know how it compares to more traditional techniques. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
